Purpose
The purpose of Disciples Women is to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ and to provide a channel through which women of the Tennessee Region of the Christian Church may be joined in fellowship and find means for effective participation in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

West Area Spiritual Journey
On March 16, 2024, the West Area held their annual Spiritual Journey at New Direction Christian Church, DOC. The theme was Cultivating a Community of Compassion: Be a Crown Fixer. The scripture reference was Proverbs 31:25-26. The West Area Coordinator and District Liaisons worked collectively to produce an outstanding program. Our Resource Leader was Rev. Dr. Debra Reid. There were about 100 ladies that attended from over ten churches extending from Collierville to Alamo Tennessee. The Disciples Women wore gold crowns with a one-word affirmation to be crown fixers for other sisters after positing their own crown. As president of TDWM, one of my goals is to introduce young ladies to Disciples Women’s Ministry and ensure them that they have a place at the table to bring their God given talents. Youth from varies churches were invited to participate and they were well received and appreciated. The West Area Disciples Women’s service project for the next two year is Room In The Inn (RITN). We will provide supplies, bus passes, partner with host churches and donate Christmas gifts.
