Rev Kevin L. McNeil M.Div., M.A.
Interim Regional Minister
Son of Rev. Henry Alfred Smith and Mary Helen Bowling, Rev McNeil is a fourth-generation preacher with a long history of church service. He is married to the lovely Kimberly T. McNeil and they have three children, Courtney Danyel, Kevin Michael, and Carrington Myles McNeil. Rev. McNeil has received ecclesiastical endorsements from the Missionary Baptist and Free Will Baptist Churches; and in 2008 was ordained by the Christian Church Disciples of Christ in the Piedmont District and Endorsed by the Christian Church Disciples of Christ Region of Virginia.
He is very active in the community and is an adamant supporter of education, social justice and keeping communities informed on current events. He also spends time conducting leadership and boundaries training for various organizations. Rev. McNeil loves sports, reading, watching movies, travel and spending time with family and friends and is very competitive.
Rev McNeil holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Miami (FL), and an M.A in Counseling as well as an M.DIV. from Liberty University.
Joan Hale
Regional Administrative Assistant
Joan Hale has served as the administrative assistant for the Christian Church in TN since July 2006; she has more than 38 years’ experience in accounting and office
management. A native of Tennessee, Joan became a widow in Jan. 2022 after 45 years of marriage to Ron Hale. They have one daughter, Jessica who is married to Jon Bates. In October 2018, God blessed them with granddaughter, Elora Alice Hale-Bates who is Joan’s heart and “Sunshine”.

Rev. Kyle Harris
Youth Program Director
The Reverend Kyle T Harris is a life-long Disciple who has served churches in Oklahoma, Colorado, Indiana, California, Kentucky, and Tennessee with particular focus on educational ministry with children, adolescents, and adults. Since 2012 Kyle has led congregations as an intentional interim minister, currently serving as Interim Minister at Central Christian Church in Murfreesboro. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma and a Master of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana. Outside of the congregation, Kyle worked with Metro Nashville Public Schools in a position funded by a Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) grant targeting anti-bullying and violence prevention behaviors designed to help bring social and behavioral change in middle schools. The mantra of the job was “Creating a Culture of Kindness” in inner city schools.
Kyle loves being a dad who chases his children all around the soccer fields and basketball courts. Austin is a senior in high school and looking forward to his final year of varsity soccer and deciding where he will study next school year. Julia is a 7th grade tween that loves doing art and playing soccer and basketball.
A native of Oklahoma but living in Tennessee for 20 years, Kyle brings 35 years of youth ministry experience in various capacities. In addition, he has directed and counseled church camps in the Oklahoma, Indiana, and Pacific Southwest Regions. In his personal time, Kyle enjoys playing golf, biking, and running.
Jessica Bates
Ministry Associate
Jessica is a rare “native” Nashvillian, living and working in the city her whole life. After graduating from Emory University in 2006 she worked for several years in the nonprofit field and as well as early childhood development & care. Jessica took several years off to be with her young daughter after her birth in 2018 and is excited to be re-entering the work force in service of the Christian Church (DOC).
