Dear Tennessee Disciple Clergy:
Thank you, for your commitment to ministry, and service to God, Church, and Community. We are grateful that you are part of the ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Tennessee. Your ministry is recognized by the wider church as well.
In keeping with The Theological Foundations and Policies and Criteria for the Order of Ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the Regional Commission on Ministry is responsible for annually reviewing and certifying the standing of all ordained and commissioned ministers under our care; including hospital chaplains and ecumenical ministries whose standing is not being held by GCOM (General Commission on Ministry).
Standing allows your name and ministerial classification to be listed in the Ministers Directory of the 2025 Yearbook/ALEX of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). As a minister with standing, you may call upon the church for services and support through Disciples Home Mission, having voting privileges at the Regional Assembly of the Christian Church in Tennessee, and General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and may meet IRS requirements for housing allowance provisions.
To receive standing for 2025, the Regional Commission on Ministry must have your completed form by December 6, 2024. You may complete the form online by using the link below.

In 2018, the Tennessee Region adopted a resolution stating that all clergy must take Healthy Boundaries and Pro reconciliation/Anti-racism once every five years to maintain ministerial standing. Please keep in mind that if you have not had both of these classes within the past five years, the Commission on Ministry will not grant standing for 2025.
*Retired Clergy who still want to be active doing pulpit supply, interims, weddings, and funerals, please use this form as well. If you are Retired and no longer serving in ministry, you may use this form to request Inactive Retired Status. That means you no longer have standing with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Tennessee and your name will not appear in the Yearbook.
